Interestingly enough...

So Christmas is almost here and I have yet to shop. Been too darn busy. The tree is not even up yet. ergh. So tomorrow after I am done carving more lino tiles we will be busy trimming the tree. I have tons to do to get ready for the Last Minute Maul. I am running some prints so I am really excited as I have not done block printing since I was a kid. So I am really getting back to my roots here. LOL. I may bring some stuff from the gallery that I have been wanting to rid myself of. It is early spring cleaning folks!

My mother tells me yesterday that she has gone completely overboard shopping for the kids and has spent way too much money. I ask her why? The crap is just going to break a week after Christmas so why are you bothering? Amongst some of the gifts they are getting ---- Kameron has been eyeing Cindy Royal's purple guitar that she has had for a small time that is simply the perfect size for him, however, my Aunt purchased a guitar for him and a keyboard for Logan. It is going to be a rockin' house pretty soon. Hmm... maybe I will let the kids grow their hair out and they can start their own band. HA.

Along with the holiday crap I have been getting ready for a time of solitude after Naughty Gras. I know I will be relieved and happy that all will be complete with Naughty Gras for a while. So to regain some peace and balance again I will be shutting down the computer for a bit as I have the July show at Mad Art to contend with and the 30 feet of space that I have to worry about.

The pieces that I have in my mind are not only going to be a visual delight in the work itself but also will be something interesting in how they are displayed. This is something that I have wanted to do for a very long time with the idea but had never had the wall space to be able to put the idea into reality. I could literally do cartwheels on the thought as I have NEVER seen it done. The complexities of my mind have worked this all out and I am flipping out at the time because it is drawing near too quickly.

If you are in town you will have to just come and see it to experience my thought coming to life.

As of February 14th, 2009 I will be logged off for a bit -- although you know it will be too tempting to stay off the comp and completely out of the loop. So I will check in about once a week with updates and such and maybe a few previews at what I am working on.

The gallery especially will be difficult to completely stay off the comp. So I am erging all of my gallery mates to pull in the next several shows so I can get all the graphics and such done and final before my solitary confinement begins. :)

Oh yes I must share this below....... View the pic and then see the explanation below it.

The other day we were in Dick Blick buying materials and they have had this gory red ink stain on the carpet forever. The first time I had seen in last year I thought it was blood. So my oldest lays on the floor and says look mom I am dying... HA HA. He is such a sicko just like his mommy. We had to get a pic. So NO I did not kill my child. :)

Signing off for now xoxo

Time is turning

It was really a great day. We were at home with our youngest and had some issues today. Overall, he seemed pretty good. Phew!!! We have a counselor coming to the house a few times a week to evaluate our son for other things and to help us deal with him better.

There is a lot going on in our lives that seem to be really fantastic and for that I am thankful.

My husbands daughter stopped off tonight to see him and the boys. I love how my husbands eyes light up when he sees her. It is like a breath of life in him. Every time he sees her I see it. It is a great people watching moment.

I had tons to do today but family has come first.

Tomorrow will be a busy busy day!

Sheesh

Today I was almost excited to get back to the gallery as it has been awhile since I have been there. However I think my youngest would probably either be dead OR literally be duct taped to the wall. Believe me the latter of the two is tempting! My poor husband. It drives him to the edge with this behavior. We are pretty patient people on most occasions when we know that there is a result just over the hill. However, with our son we are just not seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

Our youngest son has just been a nightmare and a half to deal with. Picture the kid from the "Problem Child" mixed with "Dennis the Menace" and multiply this incarnation by 20 = our youngest son.

So I called my lovely friend to watch the gallery and I owe him big time! My Savior!! He has been around my youngest on more than one occasion and understood the situation. So he didn't even question why I desperately needed him.

So the day continued on. I ran to GNC as someone told me to start putting Aloe Vera Juice in his juice (1 part AV juice, 3 parts reg juice - we used V8 Splash - the carrot kind).

Shortly after the little guy dumped half a bag of sugar onto an antique bench - we are still unpacking the house so there is different things all over the house. He got a hold of the chocolate milk powder and had chocolate all over his hands. Some of the stuff he does I don't remember but this is an every day thing. Somehow you just get so used to not having anything of value out and about to show off, you don't buy those things for the house. This includes new furniture, art, candles, anything nice.

He does things so quickly and quietly we just don't know what he will be doing next. If we don't hear him for more than a few minutes we know he is up to no good, or he is asleep. Usually never asleep.

Bedtime is also interesting because it usually will take about an hour or two to finally get him to sleep. This is an every night thing.

So he is finally asleep. Now I can breathe.

To add to our insanity, we will have to homeschool him until he balances out from the withdrawal effects of ritalin. The teacher cannot handle his craziness in class. She is a pretty young and calm teacher and the kids in his class seem to be that way as well. My youngest happens to be the outcast.

I am hopeful that the holistic approach will indeed help and work for everyone's benefit. We are removing gluten, wheat, corn syrupy crap from the house all together. I will have to learn different ways of baking and cooking to make this work for everyone. There is scientific proof that for these adhd kids it may just be a dietary thing or it may be an allergy to certain foods.

I may end up in a mental ward in the next couple of weeks but we will get through it... I hope.

Will it ever end?

okey kaybee

So finally I am writing my blog. Decided that after almost a year of having this thing that it is probably time to use it and make a good time of it. With my insomnia it may sound like a bitch session so beware; at the same time it may make you laugh.

We just moved recently and I don't remember ever being this exhausted in my life. The house needs a bit of tlc but overall it has great bones. Will be tearing apart a lot soon. Kitchens, bathrooms, and basements OH MY! OH MY, OH MY! I have my work cut out for me.

The kids love that they have their own rooms again. What I am more excited about is that we have a laundry chute. OMG! No more tumbling down the stairs or throwing baskets full of clothing down stairs just to watch it pop-out of the basket. hehe.

I am giving it about a month, maybe two before my youngest tries to put one of the cats down the chute. Only a matter of time.

So along with moving and trying to get settled in after the house is jam packed with boxes there is LOTS going on.

Recently the SAM Gallery celebrated their 1 year anniversary. This is so exciting that we have been open for a year now. The lovely creator of the SAM is moving back to Australia very soon. Kindof bummed and will miss Steve a lot. Really a nice guy. I know he is looking forward to getting home and back to a normal life.

Getting ready for some shows coming up. At the SAM, the $50 show has opened. I have a few pieces for the show already at the gallery and looking forward to them selling as it is time to clean house. There are some larger pieces in my gallery space that I am hoping a loft owner or someone with a larger home will purchase.
