Holiday fun

We are getting ready for the holidays... yes, finally. Usually the day after Thanksgiving we are rushing to get the tree and all the decor up to get ready for Christmas. This year we are just taking it easy. Somehow our 8 foot tree is missing the last 2 feet, therefore it looks pretty lame, so it is hiding in the garage, cowering in the corner because it knows it has been put aside this year. We are using the lovely 4 foot tree (ha ha) that we used more or less for just a side decoration at the huge house that we had a couple of years ago.

The Holidays are quite interesting in their own right. Dealing with family and all the lunacy that is our family. Trust me you are not the only one that deals w/ the drama.

I hope that everyone enjoys their beautiful holiday, drink LOTS of egg nog and get through it. Make some lovely pancakes (use the expensive maple syrup & real butter) on Christmas Morning with homemade cocoa and homemade marshmallows and have the time with your children. They are absolutely the most important thing during the holidays! Plus you know you want to play with their toys as well.

Then think about the things that you would love to change for next year. Instead of making one resolution, make 10. They can range from the simplistic to the absolute hardest thing, stick to it and at the end of the year you can make a private mental note to yourself that you have made a difference in your own life and possibly the lives of others.

So here is my TOP 10.

1/Take time out for myself once in awhile to just breathe.
2/Take that long awaited road trip with the husband and kids. Get lost. Do it again.
3/Spend more time with the kids.
4/Do something nice for a stranger/some strangers.
5/Recycle
6/Go on that diet and stick to it.
7/Finish that degree that you have been working so hard for.
8/ORGANIZE my life. Starting with getting rid of all the crap that you have held onto for whatever silly reason, oh yes you know it is hiding in the garage!
9/Find the time to really sit down and Paint, Draw, experiment
10/Make room for more goals.

XOXO

Looks like you're having a somewhat stressful Christmas. Hope you'll enjoy it a bit anyway!
